verdell.
i felt kind of like jack nicholson minus the gloves and paranoia when this dog paused to look at me today. although the owner was not a gay man in a wheel chair, despite the heart studded boa around her dog's neck, she was however very into Cosmo and at the moment Cosmo is into the clicking noise my camera makes. oh yeah i got new shoes. run dmc aint got shit on me and my vans.

wall of death.
originally built in 1941, rhett rotten's wall of death traveled to the midland county fairgrounds this weekend for the town's first bike rally. i was supposed to shoot pictures of rotten riding parallel to the earth in the circular wall. instead the wall arrived late because their truck was impounded with it's driver in jail, reason unknown, so they spent the whole day setting up. rhett was m.i.a. for most of the day so i shot the wall and those assembling.

pole dancers.
so this morning ryan, who is playing staff photographer this week, politely called me at 7:30 a.m. to switch shifts with me. it was cool, but in the process he swipped my kick ass assignment. i was scheduled to shoot what i politically incorrectly referred to as pole dancing. well i went along with ryan to his pole dancing assignment and despite the lack of dollar bills and body oils, it was a better show than any strip club. the australian performing arts company was called special fruit. funny name i know, but the show was fucking amazing in my opinion.

photo camp.
today ryan and i taught a hand full of ten and eleven year olds how to use their cameras. well we tried. in the process we learned alot about kids and a little about teaching. we kicked off the near three hour ordeal with cameras and all the technical crap that they could give a shit about anyway. then we showed some of our own work. it was outside after that to test our skills. ryan and i were a little rusty, but the kids did great. ryan took the time to teach the kids true paparazzi technique by hidding behind trees and kicking the leg out to get the best angle. by the end it was hard to tell the teacher from the student.
photos courtesy of our students, the good ones by ryan, and myself

cinderella and the beavers.
yes, another post from my daily shooting for the paper. sorry.
the beaverton beavers were a team with a regular season record of something like 30 and 10. they weren't supposed to go to the state championship, but that is just what they did. the first two pictures are from them winning regionals. the third and fourth are from when they upset a much better team in the first round of the state finals. the final picture is of their defeat in the championship game. to have never played highschool sports, i sure as hell shoot a lot of them. overall it was fun.
